1. Overview

LinkedIn Copilot ("the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users write and improve LinkedIn posts using AI. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is never collected.

2. Data we collect

We collect no personal data. The extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information.

The only data stored locally on your device is:

• Your Gemini API key — stored in Chrome's local storage on your device only. It is never sent to anyone except Google's Gemini API when you use the extension.

3. Data we do not collect

LinkedIn Copilot does not collect any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or any personal information
• Your LinkedIn profile data or connections
• The text you write or generate using the extension
• Your browsing history or activity
• Cookies or tracking identifiers
• Usage analytics or crash reports
• Payment or financial information

4. How the extension works

When you use LinkedIn Copilot:

• The text you enter into the extension is sent directly from your browser to Google's Gemini API using your own API key.
• The response from Gemini is returned directly to your browser.
• No text, prompts, or responses pass through any servers we operate — because we do not operate any servers.

5. Third party services

The extension uses Google's Gemini AI API to generate text. When you use the extension, your writing prompts are sent to Google's servers. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Gemini. You can review it at policies.google.com/privacy.

The extension only runs on linkedin.com. It does not access any other websites.

6. Permissions explained

• storage — Used only to save your Gemini API key locally on your device.
• activeTab — Used to detect LinkedIn text boxes and inject the writing assistant sidebar.
• scripting — Used to inject the sidebar interface into LinkedIn pages.
• clipboardRead — Used only when you click "Paste from clipboard" to load your draft.
• clipboardWrite — Used only when you click "Copy to clipboard" to copy generated text.
• Host access to linkedin.com — Required to run the extension on LinkedIn pages.
• Host access to generativelanguage.googleapis.com — Required to call the Gemini AI API.

7. Data retention

Your Gemini API key is stored locally in Chrome's storage on your device. You can delete it at any time by removing the extension or clearing the extension's data in Chrome settings.

8. Children's privacy

LinkedIn Copilot is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
